You can't produce units. Turrets are your only weapon. You can build three types of turrets. To switch the turret type click on the turret in the flag zone and building menu will be updated, after that, build a turret in suitable place (metal is unbuildable terrain)

Turret type:

Light Turret - quick-firing blaster effective against infantry

Medium Turret - long-range and accurate laser cannon. Universal weapon

Advanced Turret - powerful and slow blaster cannon effective against mechs

Don't worry about your workers, everyone ignores the droids

Don't forget about anti-air defense

Use Mines to quickly create defense and deal serious damage to Pummels

Long-range units are expected to arrive. You must disperse your defenses to intercept Artillery and Bombers, and not leave the hangar unprotected
