Let's be honest: any animated film aimed at adults gets mixed responses from the critics, who still expect animation to be aimed at children. I'd also point out that Roger Ebert loved it.

Kubo and the Two Strings, my favorite film from last year, got a very warm reception from critics. Not to mention the long love affair between Western critics (presumably Japanese critics as well, but I have no direct experience with that) and the works of Studio Ghibli, and Hayao Miyazaki in particular.

Titan: A.E. was just pretty bad.

It was mine as well--or at least tied with Arrival.

Lies, pernicious lies. The music was annoying, the animation wasn't as good as some of Bluth's previous work (like, say, Anastasia or An American Tail), but the story and characters were great. Plus, it was refreshing to see animated characters actually bleed (clean knives after stabbing someone is one of my Disney pet peeves--it's just insulting to the audience's intelligence; I think John Smith and Phoebus are the only Disney characters to ever bleed, and even then it's after the fact...The first Narnia movie is one of the worst offenders here: Aslan actually tells Peter to clean his sword after killing the wolf, but it already looks brightly polished fresh from the armory).

I haven't seen Titan AE. I'll just assume the protagonists aren't a crew of human traffickers, automatically making it better than Alien: Resurrection.

I've heard rumors of some possible sneak peaks of film footage from the website slashfilm.com saying "With the Super Bowl coming up, there have been rumors spreading that we’ll get the first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer in the form of a TV spot during the big game. However, a new rumor says not only will there be no Star Wars Super Bowl spot, but we’ll be waiting a couple more months before we see any Star Wars The Last Jedi footage."

I can't confirm anything, but let's cross our fingers and hope some trailer forms in the wake of the super bowl... Too bad Donald Trump is gonna be on before the superbowl just to flaunt his stuff.

Although it could be possible that there might not be any spots and for logical reason of course, but you'll have to read the rest of the article to figure that out yourself and decide.

Any chance Dame Judi Dench could be in VIII or IX? Because I'm not going to lie, that would be fantastic.

acually is snoek

Think about it! We have female heroes, now we need a villain! So Snoke appears to be this heavily-scarred male to further the First Order's aggressive patriarchal machismo cult... but is really Kreia. <_<

Of course, if Dame Judi were part of the production... she wouldn't have to ask questions, now would she?

As much as I love Dame Judi Dench, if Snoke is actually Kreia I must insist that she be played by Sara Kestelman, who nailed that role.

I found something interesting while surfing the net out of boredom. Apparently, the spanish translation to this title is "los ultimos jedi" plural. Any idea as to what that could mean? Matter of fact, it might not even mean only one jedi... It might mean something more, because the title is seemingly plural.

Disney's social media keeps using the plural Jedis, which is almost as cringe-inducing as the time Star Trek's social media referred to "Major Nerys."

If you put an S at the end of "Jedi" without an apostrophe and the intent for it to be possessive... you should be fired by LFL.

The long and short of it, then, is this: the old Expanded Universe, now Legends, is well-respected and revered by Dave Filoni and the team at Lucasfilm. It can be pulled from and will continue to be pulled from whenever it makes sense; that's the way George Lucas intended, and will help build an ever-richer world for Star Wars fans new and old.
Translation: While we'll pay no respect to the events and characters that shaped and were shaped by those events, we will absolutely milk your nostalgia to keep you coming back.

Jar Jar is now a clown. This is why fanservice is killing Star Wars. Not as quickly or horribly as active contempt for the fans, but... still lethal.

But at least it takes care of that annoying "Jar Jar the Sith Lord" Theory.

Also, I finally found the official production announcement video of episode VIII. I don't know why it took me so long to find it though.

I've heard reports that Gary Barlow is going to make a cameo in the Episode VIII sequel trilogy.

Also, I read that for some reason princes William and Harry, from the UK, are also starring in the movie... Not sure how this is managed, but okay.

That too, but actually they'll be starring as Stormtroopers, I guess. That's what I read at least, as well as Daniel Craig.
