I think it's far more likely that she and Kylo both become disillusioned by their mentors and branch out alone, building from each other's strengths. I don't know what direction this will take, but whatever. Who knows, might all be a red herring anyway...

That's actually not a bad idea. Not sure you could fit that whole process into one movie though.

Well, no, really I imagined that being the culmination of the film, and the actual payoff to be the played out in Ep VIII. But I don't really know where they would be able to take it from there: where's the conflict? Do the two of them try to stop the First Order and the Resistance (still a dumb name) from fighting? Or turn on both of them? Who knows. Like I said before, I'm fully prepared for that scene to be an unsatisfying red herring, but we'll see.

UPDATE - I've updated the OP with some context and got a new trailer from the official star wars channel posted in there too. Anybody else got some info, that isn't a spoiler, about the Star Wars Film, I am all ears. Now, I'll be hunch over the computer looking for another career while I get to some paperwork.

Devoting films to them is like if Peter Jackson made a two-hour Lord Of The Rings spinoff adventure about Aragorn hitchhiking to the Prancing Pony.

That actually makes a ton of sense, because it explains why the Confederacy and especially its leaders look so woefully incompetent. I mean, in an actual war General Grievous would have been replaced about two hundred defeats ago.

So I was reading Wookipedia about the new B-wing clones that appear in the trailer and it linked to an article which I didn't read (spoilers) called the evacuation of somewhere, saying that these not B-Wings fought there... But of course, the evacuation of somewhere isn't at all remotely similar to the evacuation of Hoth at all is it... #ESBRemake

I'm calling bullshit on those excerpts. "The most atmosphere-ripping flatulence the galaxy ever heard" is too specific and constricting to any future stories Lucasfilm might want to tell, particularly in film.
