I'll present a snapshot of an early RM game and you tell me how you would react and what would you focus on (and why).
Snapshot:
It's a 2v2.
You are confederacy.
Map is flats. (No easy way to wall unless you use considerable resources)
You consider all players in the game to be of equal skill, but their habits are unknown to you.
In your first scouting pass you found enough nerfs to fill one nursery and a small berry patch.
So, you currently (a couple minutes into the game) have 2 houses, one nursery. Between the nursery and a few workers on berries you have enough food flow to keep up your worker flow.
Question:
What will you focus on and why?
Do you have a plan as to when you hope to gain the upper hand?
If you always do the same thing no matter the map/civ that's fine (I'm still interested in what you will focus on).
Note:
I realize there are many more things that probably go into your decision (ie. opponent civ, distance to opponent, early score of opponent).
If there are things that you look for explain them so that we can understand them better and decide whether to attempt your strategy.
Alteration #1:
All from above are the same except:
You are gungans.
Map is rivers. (only 2 ways across the river on to your opponent and 1 between you and ally)
Alteration #2:
All from above are the same except:
You are republic.
Map is landMass.
