| Space Stations |
The ultimate super weapon: a space station that can blow up planets with a single blast. This is a player-controlled unit, and can be wielded against any planet foolish enough to resist. |
| Capital Ships |
The quissential capital ship. The Star Destroyer is the main spacecraft in the Imperial Navy (not considering the command ships). It can bombard a planet from orbit, or land troops to take control by ground. |
Here is the Rebel's answer to the Star Destroyer, a cruiser built by the Mon Calamari. It can take a significant beating before succumbing. |
The Victory-Class Star Destroyer is an earlier incarnation of the now famous Imperial Star Destroyer. It is somewhat smaller and less powerful, but it is still a formidable enemy to face. |
This is a ship that is to be greatly feared: The Imperial Interdictor Cruiser. The four large globes imbedded in the craft create gravity wells that will snap ships out of hyperspace and into the arms of the waiting Imperials. While the Interdictor is not as large as a Star Destroyer, it can handle itself well in any firefight. |
The name of this craft is unknown, though it appears to be of capital ship scale, so it is listed here. Its primary purpose seems to be to combat other capital ships, as its ungainly shape is not likely suited to high speed maneuvering. |
| Cruisers |
The most well known cruiser-class ship. This is the Rebel Corellian Corvette, more well known as the Blockade Runner. It works well in minor engagements requiring fewer guns than on capital ships. It cannot hold fighters, but has a well-stocked escape-pod launcher. |
The Nebulon B, used as a medical ship in The Empire Strikes back, presumably also has combat capabilities. A relatively large cruiser, it is sure to pack a punch. |
This seems to be some sort of Imperial frigate, as of yet unnamed. Smaller than the Blockade Runner, it probably has trouble competing unless accompanied by other spacecraft. |
As a smaller version of the Blockade Runner, this Rebel Corellian Gunship is probably the equivalent of the Imperial frigate pictured above, with many of the same capabilities. |
A smaller version of the main Mon Calamari Cruiser. It probably function as a smaller frigate of some sort, used with the support of fighters and other capital ships. |
| Transports |
Hailing from the time of the Clone Wars, this older Acclamator-class military transport is evidently still used by the Empire. |
While pictured on land, this craft can also take to the air. Most likely, it is used to transport troops and vehicles from capital ships to the ground during land assaults. It bears a striking resemblance to the Trade Federation's MTT. |
This is the troop transport version of the Lambda-Class Shuttle (Luke & crew used it to land on Endor). It certainly has a lower capacity than the larger transport pictured above, and is probably used primarily for troops (officially named the Imperial Landing Craft). |
| Space Fighters |
The X-Wing, the primary space fighter of the Rebel Alliance, as well as Luke's favored craft. Excellent at attacking capital ships and evading lasers from gun emplacements. You'll want to be sure to have plenty of this all-purpose craft around. |
The primary opposition to the X-Wing, the Imperial TIE fighter is very maneuverable and light, due to the lack of cockpit atmosphere generators and hyperdrive. The TIE fighter has severe range restrictions, so they are only found near Star Destroyers or established Imperial bases. |
Here is the Rebel's main light bomber, the Y-Wing. This ship can bomb either capital ships or land bases and vehicles, but has little in the form of defense. Twin overhead-mounted laser cannons provide the Y-Wing's only defense against other small spacecraft. |
The Imperial's equivalent to the Y-Wing, the TIE bomber is essentially a TIE fighter modified with a second pod containing bombs. It has the same restrictions (and benefits) as the TIE fighter. |
The most modern space fighter in the Rebel's fleet is the A-Wing. Much faster, smaller, and more maneuverable than the X-Wing or TIE Fighter, it is a formidable opponent. The Imperial's TIE Interceptor (as of yet not pictured in screenshots) is its main opposition. |
The TIE Scout is a light maneuverable fighter, new to the Empire's fleet. |
A Marauder Corvette. This larger fighter is often used by pirates. Its presence in the game suggests that players will be able to hire mercenaries and fend off pirates. |
| Tanks/Ground Machines |
As the most easily-recognizable land-based machine, the AT-AT strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare oppose it. The towering walker is heavily armored against all but the most powerful of guns. It can traverse nearly any terrain to reach its objective. A concerted counter-effort is required to defeat an AT-AT, let alone multiple of the vehicle. Creative measures may be in order to bring an AT-AT to its knees. |
A smaller walker, the AT-ST is used as an anti-infantry vehicle. It can can easily travel through any region and maintain balance easily due to advanced gyroscopes. It is operated by a crew of two, adequately protected in a small armor-plated cabin. It has two forward facing guns that rotate vertically (horizontal movement is achieved by rotating the entire cabin) and two secondary guns on each side of the main cabin. |
Although somewhat small, this unnamed Rebel tank certainly packs a punch with its twin-mounted laser cannons. It is a traditional tank with rotating turret and treads. It also seems to have a smaller infantry-based gun mounted on the apex of the turret. |
Probably the main opponent of the Rebel tank pictured above, the TIE Crawler is yet another take on the TIE design. Instead of solar panels, this TIE model has large tread mechanisms. Although one might question the effectiveness of an essentially blind pilot and lack of rotating guns, the vehicle evidently has been successful. |
This AT-AA is an tank-like crawler used by the empire. Employing a flak cannon, this unit is used as anti-air defense. |
| Hover Vehicles |
The Landspeeder (more well known in its incarnation as the Snowspeeder in The Empire Strikes Back) is the main hovercraft of the Rebel Alliance. With two forward mounted laser cannons and rear harpoon gun, the landspeeder can take on any challenge. It is particularly useful for destroying AT-ATs. |
This is the TX-130T, an Imperial-upgraded version of the old Republic TX-130S. Instead of treads, it is equipped with a repulsorlift, so that it may traverse any terrain without difficulty. It has a single top-mounted rotating laser cannon and two more swiveling cannons on each side of the cockpit. |
Here is the somewhat nondescript Rebel hovertank. Unfortunately due to the lack of detail it is difficult to point out any particular characteristics. It is probably the equivalent of the Imperial hovertank pictured above. |
The smallest of all the hover vehicles, the Imperial Speeder Bike seats one (in most cases) and has two small front-mounted laser cannons. It is often used to scout enemy territory and usually operates in squads. |
The craft Luke's family owned in A New Hope. This unit is not armed and is only useful for transport. Its role in the game is currently unknown. |
| Infantry |
The most recognizable of all Star Wars infantry, the Stormtrooper, is associated with any Imperial base or craft. As elite Imperial troops, they are often the first into battle, and, unfortunately, often the first to fall. Equipped with a Blastech E-11 and a single thermal detonator, the Stormtrooper operates in squads and is ready to face any opponent. |
While Rebel troopers do have an generic uniform for use aboard spacecraft, land-based troops often dress in accordance with their environment. These troopers are geared for forest or jungle warfare. These troopers were also used in the Battle of Endor. The pictured troopers are using an unknown rifle type - it is certainly not the standard issue Rebel weapon. |
As Rebel troops vary gear by environment, so do Imperials. This is the Imperial Sandtrooper, deployed to desert planets (such as Tatooine). They can be recognized by the colored pauldron over the shoulder. This trooper is pictured with the standard Blastech E-11 blaster rifle. |
This is the Rebel snow infantry. Wearing insulating gear and toting a variety of weapons, snow infantry are ready to face any dangers in the icy wastes. Snow infantry were used on the Battle of Hoth (to unsuccessfully combat AT-ATs). |
| Heroes |
Darth Vader, a powerful Sith Lord. He features a variety of attacks utilizing the force, as well as his lightsaber. |
Presumably Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight. |
