DARK RISING PART II
By Yehoshua Yisra'el
The sound pack may be found at these two mirrors
Dark Rising first started off with a tale of a fallen Ranjii. It now continues after the Dark One, the Emperor of the Galactic Emporium, has fallen.
A time of gilded wealth, a time of jewels dripping from the chosen elite. The once dark spires of the Dark One have given in to the to golden fingers reaching for the stars. The once twisted empire has fallen to be replaced by a time of peace, a false peace where wars within are fought by certain rules… No longer is there an emperor, now the privileged few have taken reins of the government in the name of democracy, a corrupt people with no interest in the well being of others but their own. It is a massive war of political backstabbing, and… pity those caught in it…
In this twisted form of democracy exists the Ranjii Order. Created generations before to fight evil and defend the just. Policing those who wish to take advantage of the Republic’s weakness and establish an empire of their own. The Dark One, a dark lord of Sith attempted such a thing, but fell to the Ranjii Order with their pursuit for freedom from his mastery of evil. Even now many still attempt to bring the Republic to its knees and eradicate the Order protecting it…
Our story begins with an inspection of a Protocol Droid Factory. The Ranjii Order does these such inspections often to prevent, not as they say for safety hazards and unsafe working conditions, but for such occasions were a power hungry warlord would want to create a massive army and take the Republic by force…

A very interesting and entertaining campaign. It never became dull; the whole campaign was very interesting throughout. There were no bugs that I could find, also. The astromech unit control panel and the attacking fish segments were fun to play through.
Well, I only really found myself challenged at a couple points, particularly in the boss battle, but the whole campaign just seemed too...easy overall. However, this campaign is still a challenge, but it's just not really hard.
The story, while slightly more generic and gameplay-oriented than Dark Rising: Part I, was interesting none-the-less. I encountered many puzzles, traps, special effects, and the like which attributed to the overall enjoyment of the scenario.
Map Design: 5
Perhaps the best part of this campaign. The interior levels were excellent; the outdoor ones were even better. Chapter 2 was certainly the best in terms of Map Design, but the others were nicely done as well; the sewer system in Chapter 3 was well designed.
As I stated before, the story was not quite as dramatic and engaging as that of Dark Rising: Part I, but it hardly calls for deducting an entire point. I did notice that there wasn't much background information on Master Eeche and his role in the campaign, but it doesn't really seem to matter. The instructions were pretty clear and gave general advice on the level; no problems there.
Well, abundantly creative, very fun to play, semi-challenging (pretty much the only flaw), clear instructions, and beautiful maps. Keep up the good work, Yoshi and the rest of SCN Punk!
