This is the demo version of Frozen Secret.
This version contains 2 playable maps.In the first mission the player must deactivate the Defence Program and steal a sub. In the second mission the player must find his way trough the ocean-maze. I`m still working on the full version.
Please download this demo and give your comments in the forem. This version doesn`t have any background sounds, because I had problems with zipping the large mp3`s.
My usual thought about small downloads is that they are usually not worth the second wait. Much to my surprise, the maker actually did a decent job for a beginner. There was that nice little option with the gates to unlock and to turn off the laser turrets. The second part was nothing great, but clearly the author put effort into making the map nice, and the game play a little interesting. The playability was bug-less, there was no trouble at all, which clearly points out the author went through the trouble to test it and make sure everything worked. Balance was that mainly it involved a lot of walking, or in some cases, "swimming" in your sub. There was a little creativity, and I gave it such a score because there wasn't enough to actually impress the player. Map design wasn't that great, but the effort is truly worthy of a decent score. One of the major problems is the story and instructions, in which both are not fun to look at, and there is not side missions, ect...
- Decent job on eye candy, nothing spectacular though. - No bugs to hinder game play.
Things to improve upon
- Could work on making it slightly more interesting with side quests, and longer scenarios. - could research some techs to speed up the unit’s speed if they are going to do a lot of walking with no fighting.
I suggest this for a player who has time, the download is short, while nothing quite "impressive" it is a decent attempt, and I feel that people will enjoy playing his full version.
