Before I begin, I would like to talk a little about myself. I am The Conquistador, also known as Stan. I have been reviewing for the site Age of Kings Heaven for a long time, and have the record for most submitted reviews. This is, however, my first review for Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Like I did for AOK, I will follow mainly Angel Spineman's review tutorial as the basis of reviewing scenarios and campaigns.

Playability:

Overall extremely poor. In the first scenario, there was absolutely nothing you can do beyond walking around in your initial start area. "Find an air transport", like the instructions told you, did nothing. The transport didn't move or anything, and you were still stuck in there. This isn't a rare problem and can be solved easily with a little playtesting and trigger work. The second scenario was slightly better, but like the first one, poor instructions and trigger bugs meant you will be stuck after finding your Bothan contact.

Balance:

Overall borderlined between poor and mediocre. There was little difficulty, as you meet no enemies whatsoever. However, the task of trying to find a solution to your situation did provide some challenge, so it's not an absolute 1.0.

Creativity:

Limited by the fact that many things were copied from the official campaigns, such as finding a Bothan contact.

Map Design:

It wasn't spetacular, but it was about as good as a random map (which is worth 3). So, a mediocre score of 3 will be given in this area. More eyecandy and more terrain variation will certainly boost the mark up by a large margin.

Story/Instructions:

Very poor since I felt confused throughout the whole campaign, since there was usually no more than one line of instructions. The initial instructions screen did not contain any text other than "There will be in-game objectives" or similar. There was also no story anywhere, so a lack of both a story and instructions results in a 1.

- Story/Instructions: Do type into the initial instructions screen and type more specific instructions into the in-game instructions

Final Thoughts: Overall not too horrible for a first try, and the author certainly has potential. Like I mentioned many times in AOK reviewing, scenario designing is "10% talent, 20% skill, and 70% effort". There is nothing you cannot conquer with effort.
