The Jar Jar War BETA 2 version 1

Author File Description
File Details
Clone Campaigns required?: Yes
Style: Mix
Number of scenarios: 1
The newest version of the Jar Jar War campaigns, I have decided to start all over with the campaign, making an entirely new set of scenarios. The one included is merely a simply preview with a few trigger elements (such as upgrades) contained. Also included are the mods I've used for the campaign. Credit for them goes to their creators:

Dead bodies mod

Attack AI mod

Ultimate RPG AI mod

Not very fun. This would only appeal to Gungan haters. End trigger did not work.

Balance: 1
I think you have watched too many clone wars for the player starts with 50 TL2 troopers and must fight 90 enemies, including repeaters, strike mechs, and mech destroyers.

At least replace a few of the troopers with grenadiers for the mechs and heavy weapons!

Creativity: 1
Typical Gungan hater story. No plot, just whacking Gungans.

Map Design: 2
Some cliffs and gundark debris. Nothing else.

Story/Instructions: 1
What contributes ANY instructions whatsoever is a hard to read, harder to understand, incomplete in sentences gray text near the bottom left.

Additional Comments:
- Add objectives and story
- Add grenadiers and mix your forces with different units. Do this or change the player from Rebel Alliance or Empire to CIS or Republic or Naboo
- Make the map more interesting.
- Create a story that involves more than whacking Gungans based on the assumption that all people hate Gungans (I do not!)

I tested it several times, and the end trigger does indeed work. If you select the wrong door, you lose, select the right door, you win.

You have FAR more than just 20 troops, but you have to find the others. It's part of the "upgrade-style" secrets. I got past the mechs and troopers, but it's meant to be difficult. Also, this is more of a "men vs. tanks" scenario. I didn't want the player to have a variety of units (grenadiers, etc.) immediately at their disposal. Mass firing and better tactical thinking is needed rather than just the same old countering technique.

Also, you're seeing Gundark Debris because you didn't install the dead bodies mod.

Yes, there will be a storyline, and I will add on more backstory so people who haven't played the other campaigns can understand what's going on.

Even though the scenario had no bugs I was aware of, it just didn't fulfill my expectations of a fixed force game. The maprevealers were at random positions, and there was no real "goal" to reach. Idk, whether the "Gate Game Show" was intended to be funny, but it doesn't fit in a base escape map. The name "Jar Jar War" actually made me think of Jar-Jar Binks, the gungan who appears first in "A Phantom Menace". You however used gungan recruits. Not every gungan is called "Jar Jar". Keep that in mind.

Balance: 1
Map is by far too easy. No challenges, since the gungan player is fighting the hoth base defenders. To do this, the AI sent all troops from the entire map to one spot far off your line of walking. Even though you might consider the gate game as "difficult" it's just a chance 1 out of 4. It's nothing that would need any skill. I saved the game before choosing, and luckily I did, bc the last gate I chose was the one to let you win.

Creativity: 2
The starting position was somewhere between some cliffs. I think it was supposed to be Echo Base. However I don't think Echo Base existed at the time of Jar-Jar's life. For unknown reason a horde of gungans roams through a base, killing echo base personnel on their way. No triggering, with exception of the chat signals and the gate selection. (and some HP increase for the commander? general? leader of your team)

Map Design: 2
I only put a 2 here, because Echo Base really IS on a snow planet. The layout however, didn't look at all like a base, and the gungan troopcenters and the lone transmitter didn't really improve that. Even though you placed some buildings at a point the player would never walk to (the place where the personnel battles vs the gungans) it's far beyond any average of map design.

Story/Instructions: 1
Story? None. Instructions or Objectives? None.
Just give the player a hint what to do. If it only said "Reach the TV-Show game gungan" then it already could be a rating of 2.

Additional Comments:
If you just made your first map, and want to show it your friends, go on. But to release this map for SWGB players around the world is a bit off. That's how I think about it.
