After releasing my Clone Wars Demo I read feedback and decided to up the anti with my upcoming campaign. After extensively studying other campaigns and Scenarios I released this one. The Flight from Theed gives you control of the Police Captain Vallus as he attempts to flee from Theed as the Trade Federation close in on the city. I have tried to mix terrain and added eye candy. This is not a Demo for anything more of a Pilot for where the community thinks my design skills are at. It does not require any mods but does have music.

This is very fun to play, the map is nicely done, and there aren't any bugs or glitches to speak of. The only complaint I can think of would be the difficulty. I'd love to see a full campaign
Balance: 3
This was my biggest issue. The first time I played a handful of battle droids killed me only a few seconds after I found a full health pack. The majority of the time I spent playing involved running away from the droids and picking them off one at a time, or having them chase me back to the beginning of the map where friendly soldiers would deal with them.
I'd recommend toning down the number of droids.

You rarely get to see the Battle of Naboo from a side other than the main characters, so this is a welcome change. I've worked on something similar for a while now. Keep it up.
Map Design: 4
The swamp areas were designed perfectly, however the more open, grassy areas felt like they were lacking something. Try and use a bit more elevation and terrains other than Grass 1.
Story/Instructions: 5
Very good, again we rarely get to see this battle from a different point of view. From what I read, it's very good, and again, I hope to see more in the future.
Additional Comments:
Looking good. Again, just make it a tad easier and it'll be near-perfect[Edited on 12/04/09 @ 12:58 PM]

horribly done, by the time i met the second group of troops i died and had to start over, id suggest use trooper recruits, not heavy troopers

This was very fun to play. It was pretty simple gameplay, but sometimes simple is best. :) Only minor glitch that I noticed was with the healthpack, I noticed on one of them it gave me over 400 hitpoints, when the max was 400. Not anything major, but something to fix. Anyway, like Dallows said, you should do a whole campaign of this. :)
Balance: 2
This is the only problem with this scenario. It was extremely hard, to the point where it was impossible to get by without using Simon. I very nearly died several times, having to create several Simon the Killer Ewoks to kill the enemies before I died. I'd suggest either having less enemies, or giving them less HP so it only takes a couple shots to kill them (or both).

This was done very well. Something we haven't really seen was the invasion of Naboo from the people's view. The beginning cutscene was done perfectly, and the whole scenario was quite original.
Map Design: 5
The map design was fantastic, I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of map design. The jungle was great, and so was Theed in the opening cutscene.
Story/Instructions: 5
This was done well too. I fully understood everything I was supposed to do, what was going on, and everything.
Additional Comments:
Great job! It was rather short but it was fun. :) |

The map didn't have any lag due to triggers, however, your powerpacks, which timeout, make you lose ALL your bonus attack (you start with 7+6, after the pack, you get 7+12, when it runs out, you only have 7 left) The health packs could also exceed your max health. Actually you got +150 HP no matter what. I think that a health pack rather heals to a HP maximum, after all, if you get bandaged in real life, you're not stronger that ever before :P
Balance: 2
As stated by the others, the enemy is extremely overpowered, however, I kinda liked garrisonning into the allied MD, which shot at the enemies aswell ;)
Creativity: 4
Nice triggering in general, however it seems it's one of the first maps, in which you tried the negative "damage" and attack triggers. Besides that, the opening scene looks great and the fighters humming above your head while in the forest was also quite nice.
Map Design: 4
The design of that map was fairly above average. Nice combination of trees, rocks, flowers, shallows...
Story/Instructions: 3
While escaping Theed might not be really "new", it's a nice setting you play in. The instructions were clearly, however I didn't get the final part... If you have a "secret" base with camoflage etc... it's still detectable, if guards stand at the gate xD.
Oh, and your map's title "Flight from Theed" actually made me think it was an aircraft mission. I think you meant "Escape from Theed" =)
Additional Comments:
Nice map, hard to beat it 'till the end. But with the help of the ally MD and much time to wait for your hero to heal (watch TV in the meantime...) you get a nice mission. (Still I don't get why a single mission is packed as a campaign o_O) |

Playability-Excellent
You did a very good job on letting us control the character. Most Campaigns now let the triggers take over.
Balance-Good
In my opinion there were to many droids and Your Character should have had more attack and Health.
Creativity-Excellent
I have never seen a campaign like this one.
Map Design-Good
You had a excellent amount of everything you would find in nature.
Story Instruction-Excellent
you gave us all the information we needed to win.
This was a very good campaign. At first I saw 'Flight from Thee' and i figured it would be a aircraft based campaign but it wasn't even close to that. |
