PLAYABILITY:
Extremely playable! With the sub-quests and secret mission, it's very replayable. Trying to get as high a nova score as possible is good fun too.
BALANCE:
Relativly easy, especially with troopers and a medic. But the thing that brings this up to 5 are the hunters who hunt you down...they can kill you in two hits!
CREATIVITY:
Very creative, I liked the ideas of the prison/retiring and the nova count.
MAP DESIGN:
About as good as a random map. Wild animals would have been nice.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS:
You are Boba Fett trying to get as much money as possible before retiring. Nothing new there, but it's executed very nicely.
OVERALL:
A great level! Don't be put off by it's 'tacky' name, this is a nice level with some good triggering that makes for a challenging experience. |

Playability: (5) Very fun to play, especially with all different types of opponents.
Balance: (5) As was said above, the troopers and medics do make it pretty easy, but the other bounty hunters were a strong, and unpredictable foe, so they really spiced it up
Creativity: (5) Very interesting idea. Cool to play.
Map Design: (4) This was a great map but, as was stated above, the lack of wild animals brought this down to a four.
Story/Instructions: (5) Very interesting plot and storyline. I liked the idea of rating yourself by how much nova you had in the end.
Overall: (4.8) Very nicely done. |

This scenario could almost be described as an RPG. You control Boba Fett carrying out a series of bounties. Each enemy you kill awards you Nova, which can then be used to purchase medics and battle droids to assist you.
There aren't any noticeable bugs or hiccups in the gameplay, although most of the time spent playing consists of walking back and forth between several points with very few enemies to fight along the way.
==========
Balance: 3
The bounties themselves are very easy to kill, dying in 2 or 3 shots. Most of them are either defenseless, or guarded by basic Troopers and easily avoidable Turrets. Even the final bounty can be killed with almost no effort. The most difficult one to face is Chewbacca very early on, but even he goes down relatively quickly if you've purchased some medics and droids.
The real threat comes in the form of rival bounty hunters. Gaining certain amounts of Nova will cause enemy bounty hunters to try and hunt you down. They are capable of killing Fett in 1-2 hits, and if you don't react fast enough your game will end before you've even noticed them. It's very jarring considering how sinple the rest of the scenario is, and if it weren't for those encounters there would be no need to buy the medics and battle droids.
==========
Creativity: 3
This is sort of a unique case. A typical campaign might have devoted an individual scenario to each hero. This one divides a single map into several vaguely-recognizable film locations and has you hunt down the enemies one by one. It's a neat idea, but it's very, very basic in its execution. That said, I still managed to draw some entertainment out of it.
==========
Map Design: 2
The majority of the map is a flat slab of Red Desert. The edges and corners are crafted into rough approximations of various locales in the Star Wars universe like Hoth and Naboo. They're good enough to get the point across, but they aren't very well detailed, and the transition from each location into flat desert is very abrupt.
==========
Story/Instructions: 4
There is no real story present in this scenario, but the instructions are very straightforward and easy to understand. There's even a scale at the end of the scenario to judge how well you did based on the amount of Nova you collected. No real complaints here.
==========
Additional Comments:
It's not a very complex, pretty, or challenging scenario, but I don't feel like my time was really wasted playing it. If you want to kill a few minutes, this might be worth looking into. |
