This is a fairly tough scenario that requires quick reactions, precise timing, and perfect targeting. Put your skills to the test, and if you continue to fail, then open the scenario an check the triggers. Most will need to do so.

Playability: 3 The creator clearly has a higher-than-average understanding of the trigger system, which is put to good use in this scenario. The player starts out with the Royal Starship and two N1 Starfighters, whose mission it is to protect a series of hangars from being destroyed by Federation forces. As the title indicates, it is a challenge, but overall it is very playable.
Balance: 4 I would imagine that the creator put a lot of work into the delicate balance in this level. He/she acknowledges that it is a challenge level, and it is just that. Efficient targeting and unit deployment is essential for the completion of this mission. It is difficult, but not so difficult that it is impossible. As the name suggests, it requires expert skill.
Creativity: 2 Creativity suffers a bit from the lack of story and instructions, but it is still worthy of note. The player joins the scenario while a Trade Federation naval assault on Naboo targets is in progress. This scenario took me back to the old days of Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo, the little-known Nintendo 64 game, and I suspect many of the elements from that game were borrowed for this scenario.
Map Design: 1 The map consists of a mostly blank Grass 1 field with a twisting river (shallow water exclusively) that roughly circles it. There are a couple of islands, on which there are several Naboo hangars that need to be protected. The mainland, which is separated from most of the gameplay, is also littered with Trade Federation anti-air turrets. There are no trees, no changes in elevation, no changes in the river's consistency (such as different depths, rocks, plants, etc. etc.). It would be nice to see more of these elements.
Story / Instructions: 1 There wasn't much of a story to this, which I suspect isn't entirely necessary on a challenge scenario like this one. Nevertheless, more dialogue and explanation would have been great, plus some more detailed instructions other than "if you beat this, you have earned the title of management master." I knew what to do at all times, because it was self-explanatory from the gameplay, but there was no plot or story to speak of.
Overall Well done! This scenario is better than the last several that I have rated, and I would advise anyone to download it for a test of their precision and swiftness with a limited number of air units in SWGB. One of the only problems, however, is that the player must put up with a disappointingly boring map. |
