Halo: Fall of Reach (demo)

By Orrion Carn

HALO:
FALL OF REACH

While the brutal Covenant juggernaut sweeps inexorably through space, intent on wping out humankind, only one stronghold remains--the planet Reach. Practically on Earth's doorstep, it is the last military fortress to defy the alien onslaught. But Reach's defenders have another, higher priority: to prevent the Covenant from discovering the location of Earth.

Outnumbered and out gunned, the soldiers seem to have a little chance against the Covenant, but Reach holds a closely guarded secret. It is the training ground for the very first "super soldiers." Code-named SPARTANs, these highly advanced warriors, specially bioengineered and technologically augmented, are the best in the univers-- quiet, professional, and deadly.

Now, as the ferocious Covenant attack begins, a handful of SPARTANs stand ready to wage ultimate war. They will kill, they will be destroyed, but they will never surrender. And at least one of them--the SPARTAN known as the Master Chief-- will live to fight another day on a mysterious and ancient artificial world called Halo...

Please Review if you want.

This is a completed demo of a never to be completed campaign, but you never know, I might get around to finishing this campaign. Enjoy

Selur Too bad the full version will never be released. It's pretty good (and I'm not saying that becuase it's Halo:p).

Sadly, I don't play SWGB anymore, if I ever get back into it I'll surely complete it. Course, this demo took over a month to debug and test. So, I would have to have a very good reason.

A Review of the demo would see if I should continue.
Rebel_CIS_Sup I like the military feel, but the grunt graphics look like Gungans enhanced.

It replaces the Gungan Recruit. It was made by Blackmoon I think.

Review if you want guys.

A review, as requested.:)

Playability: 3
The summary of the Playability is essentially long-cutscene, brief action scene, and then short-cutscene. While it is meant to be a Prolouge, it is sort of slow paced, but when the action begins, so does the fun. You need to use your head to solve a (rather simple) puzzle, and gun down anything that comes in your sight. Not well balanced, but tons of fun.:p

Balance: 3
You have a squad of five repeater troopers, each with over 200 hp, pitted against trooper recruits. While this is not really fair, the numbers on the enemy's side forced me to bail out one of my soldiers, but I still had a huge advantage.

Creativity: 4
The tactics and prespective gave a nice, hard-to-create, soldier's viewpoint. While it is based on Halo, it's still well adapted.

Map Design: 3
Terrain mixing and elevation was pretty average, and so was the Grunt's base. Good, but could be a lot better.

Story/Instructions: 5
Very good narration, I perfectly understood what the mission was and exactly what you were doing there.

Additional Comments: Lack of Immobile Units AI is major obstacle. Consider adding it later caimpaigns (if you make any, that is). Oh, and Brownboot made the Grunt, not Blackmoon.;)

Yeah, thanks for the review. Yeah, If I ever get back into SWGB, I'll fix those mistakes, and finish "CHAPTER 1".

So yeah, if I ever get back into SWGB and I get some help with it, I will definitly finish this campaign.
Selur I'd be most intrested in helping you complete a final version. FF caimpaigns are always fun.:)

Then I'll consider getting back into SWGB then. And have you help out.
