The Empire's Last stand

Clone Campaigns required?: No
Style: Build and Destroy
Without giving up too much of the plot, you are shot down by the last empire base in an attempt to build a strike force and destroy it. You must salvage what you can and build a strike force strong enough to take out the Empire once and for all. (just a hint- your rebel transport is buried in its own rubble. Try to select it in the rubble and destroy it with the delete key... you'll need the space it takes up)

Playability: 2
This scenario is a Build & Destroy mission that takes place in a massive forested area. Your building area consists of a tiny clearing in the corner of the map. As such, constructing a base will take a lot of careful planning and placement.

Normally that would make for a pretty fun challenge, except in this case you start adjacent to an AI-controlled partner in the same clearing as you. This partner will constantly place buildings in your base, and block your workers' paths with their own units. There are no suitable areas to migrate your base to, so your only option is to dig out enough of the forest with workers (or blast it down with artillery) in order to get an ounce of elbow room.

Adding to the annoyance is that this partner is completely useless, as it will rarely attack the enemy, and when it finally does decides to, it does so by sending Fighters and Bombers directly into Anti-Air defenses.

Attacking the enemy base is an exercise in frustration that I'll talk about below.
==========

Balance: 2
This scenario is extremely difficult, but it's impossible to lose. That might sound a bit strange; hear me out. The enemy base is peppered with fully upgraded Anti-Air turrets, numerous Fortresses, and dozens of Assault Mechs and Dark Troopers. There are no real weak points to exploit, so you're ultimately reduced to shoveling out units until you actually make progress.

The only way to get your troops inside of the base is to airdrop them; a task made exceptionally irritating by the AA coverage. Although there are rivers that lead to the enemy base, there are no actual landing points. The most you can do is use Cruisers to bomb their outermost defenses.

Now, here's where the 'impossible to lose' note comes up. The enemy does not attack. In fact, it can't. It has no transports, no means of producing transports (or any aircraft/watercraft at all for that matter) and cannot even leave its base as there are no land routes that lead to or away from it.
==========

Creativity: 2
Building the enemy base certainly took some effort, but the creativity ends there. There's nothing wrong with creating a challenging 'wreck enemy base' type of mission, but this misses its mark.
==========

Map Design: 2
There are only about 5 points of notice on this map - your base, the enemy base, an island filled with resource crystals, and some clearings filled with GAIA units. The rest consists of either an oddly rectangular river, or an endless mass of trees.
==========

Story/Instructions: 2
There is a plot present in this scenario, having something to do with destroying the last remaining Imperial base. Problem is that about 4 or 5 paragraphs worth of text are smashed into one solid block of run-on sentences and missing punctuation. Not very easy to read through
==========

Additional Comments:
The potential for fun and challenge is there, but a useless and annoying AI partner, very basic map design, and a long, boring endgame battle make this a scenario that isn't really worth your time.
