Castle Opposition:
Two opposing camps face off across a heavily forested valley, through which a relatively small river runs. Within the forest and outlying regions are numerous locations at which one may hire mercenaries, accumulate resources, and take control of one of the Ancient Ruins, the Fortresses.
Each camp is represents an Army of an unspecified force. Each camp consists of three playres, and each player's role is a particular portion of the Army.
Players 1 and 4 are the Infantry / Knights.
Players 2 and 5 are the Archers.
Players 3 and 6 are the Cavalry.
Each player begins the game with a trifling amount of resources, and a Captain. This Captain is the one and only unit with which a player may hire new units, and activate various components and structures around the field. You only get one Captain, so don't lose it.
The only important (and shall we say, collectable) resources are Nova and Ore, as they are used as Money. There are two mines on either side of the map that give the controlling player lump sums of Ore and Nova every once in a short while, around 5 to 10 minutes, perhaps more. There are also two, smaller Depots that tribute 800 Nova to the Player provided they occupy the space with a Worker. You only get three workers, but they regenerate.
Read the Intelligence, Reconnaisence, and Objectives for more information on how to play. They are reasonably detailed.
The game is technically 7 people, as a computer is necessary to make certain components of the scenario function properly. The computer has no purpose other than to exist. It is _required_ for the scenario to function correctly. It _has_ to be Player 7.
The Original Castle Opposition was created 3 to 4 years ago by a Might_Jedi_12 (or something). It has since then evolved a great deal, and has been re-released recently, to turn into a fairly large hit.
This version is un-corrupted, but not necessarily bug-free.
There are one or two minor bugs, but the bug applies to all players, so the fairness of the game isn't ruined. :)
Version Three:
- Features a number of bug fixes, all known bugs have been dealt with.
- Features additional anti-cheat devices, fixing a number of commonly used exploits.
- Rebalanced some of the purchasable units.
