[G]SuperFortress by RF_Gandalf

This script is basicly an upgrade on Fortress map. Each player starts with a Command Center, a Fortress, 12 Advanced Turrets, 10 AA Turrets, Shield Walls, 2 Troop Centers, Mech Factory, Heavy Weapons Factory, Airbase, Jedi/Sith Temple, Spaceport, War Center, Research Center, Animal Nursery, 8 Power Cores, and 5 farms around the TC. There is also a set of Sentry Posts ringing your base. The walled area is slightly larger than in Fortress Map and there is plenty of room for expansion inside your base.

Starting resources include the 5 farms around the TC, plus the usual randomized food resources. However, the Muja fruit bushes and animal resources are placed just outside your walls, forcing you into less protected areas for gathering food. Instead of starting with a few trees near your CC, there are 3 clumps of Carbon Stockpiles inside your base. There is one clump of nova in your base as well. When you run out of stockpiled carbon, there are forests outside your walls, as are the slightly more distant starting nova and the ore, but there are few if any trees inside your walled base.

As with many of my maps there is a wide variety of terrain patterns possible, but there is no snow on these maps. There are small ponds on most of the maps, but the Tatooine and Zaloriis terrain patterns have no ponds.

Because of the difference in starting resource location, there is a slight difference in recommended starting tactics. The first 5 workers should go on the farms, at least until any nerfs or banthas can be found outside your walls to send in. There is no need to make an initial house since you have a lot of population space due to the Fortress within your walls. I would recommend that the next few workers be on the herded animals (nerfs or banthas), if there are any. Look also for a "sweet spot" of Muja fruit with huntable animals nearby. Once these food resources are gone, get your farming geared up. Soon you will need to move workers outside the fortress to setup a carbon processing site near any protected forest or carbon rock. Care is recommended in initial scouting because the enemy advanced turrets can sure put a hurting on your scout bike. The difference in startup tactics and the prebuilt buildings make this an interesting map for those wanting to play a defensive game at the start or for those who prefer to get into later Tech levels before commencing with warfare.

Because of the size of the starting walled areas, it is very important to play on a map size appropriate to the number of players, or walls may overlap or turrets may be able to shoot at sentry posts or even at each other at the start. The MINIMUM recommended map size for 4 players is the Small Map, for 6 players the Large Map and for 8 players the Gigantic Map, although it is slightly possible that some sentry posts may be in enemy turret range even at these sizes.

This map is quite accomodating for a variety of game types, especially Death Match & Terminate the Commander, and for starting at other-than-standard resource levels or tech levels.

Note that in my testing I have found the turrets were more difficult to place precicely than the towers in AOK. In this final version, I have found that rarely one of the advanced turrets is placed outside of a wall. To protect this if it happens, wall it in! Also, there are so many Adv. Turrets, AA Turrets and Power Cores to try to ensure your whole base is well covered. Because of the random way the random map generator places objects, occasionally there is one less of one of these 3 objects, but when this happens your base should still be well covered. With either 7 or 8 Power Cores, you may still find a small area not provided with power, and you may need to construct an extra one. Be sure to check your defensive position well to see if additional wall or turrets are needed. Sometimes a bit of forest, nova or carbon stockpile protrudes into the wall, keeping the wall from being placed properly - don't remove that piece of resource until you have walled on the outside!

Feedback appreciated!

Commander Cody2 Where does it go?
Kyle_Karatan Commander Cody, to play this you must un-zip the file and move it to the following location-My Computer- Local Disk C- Program Files- Lucas Arts- Star Wars Galactic Battle Grounds- Game- Scenario. Once you put the un-zipped file in the scenario folder then play the game. Click on "Scenario Editor" and from there "Edit Scenario" and the scenario will be there.
