Anakin Skywalker (demo)
Reviewed by: Puddle_man
Playability: The fact that the demo ended quite soon (i expected as much from a demo) but what made me rate this as low as it is because the first level has a bug....u start the game and after 5 seconds...."You are Victourious!"Also the fact that the map had NO triggers made it rather dull
Balance: Explore....shoot...kill...win. Thats all there is to it. I know this may be a demo, but if u do release a full version it needs to have triggers
Creativity: It is a rather basic story line (well the first 2 are)but what was the 3rd one all about?? Confedracy trropers on Naboo? The least you could do is a) watch the clone wars cartton and see wat anakin does in the cartoon or b) Read some of the SW Fiction, involving the clone wars.
Map design: Very poorly designed. Looks as if u made all the maps ina t least 10 minuites
Story/instructions: No instructions, no livily dialouge, nothing wat so ever.....made it even more dullet then it is
Look, im not having a pop at u or anything its just i expected a lot mroe out of this campaign. I t least thought there wud be some trigs. If u do release a full version of this campaign, then u need to put in some trigs otherwise ppl will not find them intresting. I will now return to the shadows...
P.S The as....im sorry, the person below must relaise that even demos shud have triggers in. It is obvious that he has not played many other demos (demo's which have quite good trigger work in them)
I had to look at this to see what the fuss was about.
Firstly I must comment on the id.. ah person who reviewed this first. I decompiled the campaign, fixed the first scenario and tested it. There are triggers, all the level needed was an undefeatable object for the Confederacy.
Other that that the gameplay was bland and short and there was not much to look at, but hey this is a demo
No challenge, and to comment again on the person who reviewed this first, triggers come under creativity they are not part of the balance.
A few simple triggers, but the reason this got a 2 was because I can see looking at the Droid Factory what the Author wants to do in the future. He is intending to use lots of triggers to animate the factory into a death trap. This is very ambitious but I wish him luck.Again the guy who rated this first put the story in here, and the story does not belong here, and as for Confederacy Troops on Naboo, well they might have been there to atempt to assasinate something.
Very little to write home about. And this took 30 minutes on total not 10
There were'nt any instructions or much of a story.
Dialogue comes under creativity (as you have to be creative to make chat dialogues) not here.
Lastly, why did Puddle_Man expect alot more from this?
IT IS A DEMO.
It is not complete, its a first attempt. Part of the reason there are so few new authors making good stuff, is because ignorant fools flame them the minute they do anything.
Lastly, please stay in the shadows.
Not to stoop to Puddle_Mans level, however a demo is a demo and should not be expected to be complete. The impression I get from this campaign and the 1.2 version is that it is a learning process for the author and this is the stuff that all editors make (yet to see anything from yourself Puddle_man) but never release.
Oh and I've played demos, in fact if you did your research you'd realise that I'm actualy Koenig and a recognised expert in reviewing.
Hell just ask Aftermath or Work.
