I'M SO CONFUSED! In the first Jordonian Wars, first contact, you seemed to posses an advanced knowledge of timer triggers which you used in the opening custence. In this scenario, your short openining custence was obviously based on a "bring object to area trigger" for when characters talked. It's like "First Contact" was written by a difrent person! Oh well down to the review. This was in no way comparable to first contact but it came much closer than your last Jodornian war scenario.
Playability: 3, but it would have been four if it wasn't for that part at the begenning with the shallows and you had to find you way to the island by walking across the shallows. I liked the challenge you put in, but you gave no hint that there was a hidden way across. For example, you could have made Harken say "I need to find a way across". Players could not see the island and so they had no idea they were supposed to look for a hidden way across.
Balance: 5. It stayed on they story line and conected well with the last two scenarios.
Creativity: 3. Ok, I think anyone who's played "Falcon's First Flight" knows that this concept isn't exactly new:
Break out of a prison, make your way to an island with lots of theed buildings, then get revenge on a person who betrayed you.
Map Design: 2,Where are all the plants, rocks, and other eye candye? I hardly saw any in this scenario.
Story/Instructions: 5. Like i said, it flowed perfectly with the plot of the last two scenarios, and the brief though efficent instructions made it clear to the player that they were supposed to find Olo and get revenge.
Good job Tholm, a nice big improvement over your last scenario, but still not even close to First Contact. Whatever you did on First Contact, do it again with your next scenario! |

Master Echuu's Punk Reviews
Another thrilling piece of work by Tholm! Here is my review...
PLAYABILITY - 4 This scenario used a well-done RPG playing style and kept the player engaged throughout the scenario. A nice mix of firefights and exploring kept the player very busy. What I didn't care for was the constant walking back and forth between the same areas without anything new to do along the way. Perhaps create a couple enemies to play with on your second trip back to a certain area.
BALANCE - 3 This was the biggest flaw in the scenario. The level was just too easy and the player had too many ways of healing their unit unlimited times. Between the healthpacks, free drinks, and the Healing Chamber, you might as well have made the unit invincible. The healing chamber is a great idea, but perhaps make it a one-time use.
CREATIVITY - 4 A lot of thought was put into the scenario. Things like the Drink Bar, the comlink numbers, and the healing chamber, were all original ideas. The only problem I found with it was that it reminded me a lot of FFF's setting and plot.
MAP DESIGN - 5 Map design was excellent as usual. Nice portray of eye-candy and variety of settings, including a prison, swamp, city, and a military base, all of which were well done. Perhaps a little more could have been added to the prison, and if you used that empty space at the bottom of the map, you could have extended the military base. But that isn't enough for me to deduct an entire point.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS - 4 Scenario Instructions were very clear, and I never really found myself lost in any place. The story is really starting to become confusing though. Releasing each scenario for a campaign seperatly can get confusing. Perhaps provide better transitions between each one.
Overall, an excellent scenario and a must download!
