Celestia above...
So, we all know Coruscant. Giant skyscrapers... totally not ripping off Blade Runner and Foundation at all. Massive constructs of durasteel, permacrete, and transparisteel, thrusting up to six kilometers into the air. And the apartments for the rich and powerful are spacious, open-air deals in these towering complexes.
Except, err, human beings cannot breathe the air that high. Coruscant is slightly smaller than Earth in diameter, and has a correspondingly smaller mass to keep surface gravity at the 9.807 meters per second squared we all know and love. So, unless Coruscant's atmosphere is somehow
much thicker than Earth's (at least two atmospheres at "surface" level)... uhh, Padme's luxurious open air apartment should:
1) Not have a breathable atmosphere. Possibly excused by not being the tallest building on Coruscant... but it can't be higher than about 2.5 kilometers without the air being difficult to breathe, and no higher than 3.5 kilometers without being a threat to life.
2) Unholy winds that would force all habitats to be sealed.
3) Frigid temperatures. We're talking Ann Coulter frosty.
Maybe that's why Padme always looked like she had multiple layers on in her apartment. Of course, then there's the bedroom and evening balcony scene... so that's not it.
Well, maybe growing up on Naboo gave Padme superlungs and superthick blood with extra oxygen capacity so she could live there. I mean, she has basically every other ability except Force powers and the ability to see her boyfriend/husband as a psychotic even after he confesses to mass-murder, including women and children...
