The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

Because it is against the rules to request mods, and therefore most likely no one will do it for you. I suggest you to make up a new project because the self-sheild is not going to happen if you don't learn how to Genie yourself.

It's not possible to make a genie.dat edit that can give a unit its own personal shield.

ok, I need help! It's nothing big, but I need to know how to do taunt healing! Like typing 1 in when you have 1 food. I did what the SCN Design guide said but it didn't work.

Ok, this is what you need to do:
I would suggust using Immobile Taunt AI by Wookiee_Trooper, you can download it here
http://swgb.heavengames.com/descpage.php?type=AI&id=7

After you downloaded it, put this AI in a player other than player 1.
Then, using triggers:
Condition0: Accumulate Attribute: Player # accumulates 10 Nova stockpile
Effect0: What you want to happen

What happens is that when the player type 56, 10 nova is sent to the player with the AI, then using triggers you detect the 10 nova and sends an effect that happens due to the condition.

Condition2-Timer(2 secs)
Conditions3-Own fewer then 50 objects.
Effect0-Create Object
Effect1-Task object(set area, very impportant.)

Most of the time, there are certain programs that convert the music to normal *.wav or *.mp3 files.
If you know the extension of the music file, you should look here.
Otherwise you should do a google search or ask at a fansite.

Use the task object effect: if you want X to follow Y use this:
Effect: Task Object
Set Object: X
Set Location: Y

Welcome. I'm new at this forum. I have a big problem. I want to create scenario. I create four players (one is mine, others are played by computer). When I test my scenario, after ten seconds there appeared information - You have been defeated !! In this case I must put at least one my unit on the map . But I don't want to. I want to use trigger Change Ownership to create my player's unit. I played in Shadows of the Empire campaing and its author can do this. Please help !!

PS. Sorry for my English. I'm come from Poland and I am learning English, but I don't know this language very good.

what you need is the undefeatable object. you can find it in the "units" section in the "others" catagory. Just place it for each of the players, doesn't matter where.

I advice to put them in a corner of the map, because the undefeatable objects can be destroyed by enemy units.

Well, undefeatable object means that the player can't be beat unless a trigger make it lose, but it doesn't neccessarly means that the object can't be destroyed. Usually people use it for purposes like we said before, for the other purposes there is the invincible object

I've seen certain scenarios where Heros are given bonuses to their range and armour. I've been trying to duplicate this effect but to no avail, can somebody help me?

I recently (today) have figured out how to do moving walls, but I want to know how to make it where when a wall hits you, you die like in SOTE, or something.

It should just happen automatically.
To get the 'moving wall' effect, you use a series of 'create object' and 'remove object' triggers, so say your character was to get hit by the wall,
the game is in fact creating a wall ontop of him, instantly killing him.

I have another big problem. When I test my scenario, I hear voice.It says : I have you now, I have you now. It drives me crazy . What is going on ? Maybe something with the scripts or this damm AI files. Please help me. I will be pleasure.
