The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

Happy Designing.

Wow, congratulations on making cherub, Master Echuu.

BTW, With the create object trigger is there any way to change the direction of the object when it is created?

What I would do is create the object one tile away, and task it to the desired location so that it will be facing the right direction. There is nothing that can control it's direction when it is first created.

OK... on my question about change ownership-ded question... it isn't because I didn't have any other objects, I had a large army, in fact. Although I think it's a small triggering problem that I skipped...

How can I stop my enemies from changing their alliance? I don't want to use Immobile AI because I want them to be able to move.

Have a looping trigger that changes them to whatever diplomacy you want them to stay on.

I believe it's an object found in the "All Units SCN Editor" mod.

Congrats Master Echuu on your promotion, make sure to give Mace a good kick0rz for me, eh?

I will also assist you in this thread. Master Echuu, for my knowledge of triggering is just as extensive as yours, although I seem to be suffering from SCHS (Severe Corran Horn Syndrome).

Thank You

OK, in case you're wondering, yes i HAVE searched for my answer, but for th elife of me I cant find it. I am sorry if I overlooked someplace where the answer can be found, if there is, just gimme a link or tell me specifically where it is. If not, then I would greatly appreciate an explanation.

OK, how do I make it so that someone types in something via chat to make something else happen. I don't want healing, I want the typed in thing to activate a series of triggers.

Well it works the same way as the Healing trick works, but with different effects. You can still use the same AI with other taunt activations. Basically, give the AI to any player but yourself, and make a condition that when that player Accumilates 1 Nova, it will activate the chain of events.

I was currently using a looping trigger to keep their alliances, but when I play on hard, they want to keep switching to enemy. Therefore, it ceaselessly displays the messages that it has switched to be my ally then enemy.
I also have another question. How can I stop the background music, so I can play my own?

Turn Music Volume down to minimum in the Options.

Oh, and Striker_, anyone can help in this thread. If the old thread still existed you could see that only about 50% of the answers were Echuu's.

Most of the questions that were asked in the old help thread can be found in the various FAQs and Guides that exist now. Take a look at the Scenario Design page AoErat set up.

If you have any knowledge of AI scripting, you could go through the Immobile Units AI and find the bit that stops them from changing alliance and put it in some sort of AI.

Put in the scenario instructions to have music turned off and have a looping trigger that plays the music you want. Remember to put a timer in it (eg. if the music lasts 10 seconds, put a timer for 10 seconds in the trigger).

Thanks, BobaFett. One final question though. (all these stupid questions are exhausting...) Can any of you find the unchangable diplomacy part in Immobile Units AI? I looked through it, and I could not find it. One explanation is that I don't have enough experience in AI scripting. So, if one of you guys could find it, it would help me tremendously.
