The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

Check which player they've been created for, I think they have to be an ally for you to be able to cross the bridge, like with gates.

someone? answer? me? PLEASEEEEE? my question is when i try to submit something what zip file should i choose and how exactly do i get to it. i don't seem to have a swgb folder..

Kadwix, I've answered you in the post on previous site. In the zip file you include a campaign file, sound files, AI files and that's all. You can also include a Readme file or any other instruction.

How does it comes you can sometimes select a whole group of units and sometimes only 1? (In the scenario editor I mean.)

When you select a group of units at once, your player box (The player where you are placing the units down for) is on that trooper/mech's team...

I mean, sometimes I can select a whole group of the same units (same player) and sometimes not. How do I fix that?

I don't know what they are called, because you operate your files, don't you ? You have your SW GB Folder, haven't you ? There you have some folders : Campaign (for campaign files), Ai (for AI files) and Sound (where you have some folders like Scenario, Terrain, Taunt). You can also get sound files downloading a few campaigns from the website, which I listed in the post above. I hope everything is clear. But in my opinion, you are joking and have fun now

OK, Ill tell, you have to copy and paste a - sign into the editor, note that ctrl + v will not work so you will have to right click and paste

Devious i tried to lower boba fetts attack the way you told me is there another way to do it that is in the scenario editor?

I've got a problem. I'm making some cutscenes and I some units of player 4 are being tasked to a certain place. ( Trandoshans and an Anakin). I can figure out why. Can someone help?

Also, I trying to get some jedis fight eachother in a battle. I'm using no invincible targets; but if I task them to the same place they just stand there for a few seconds and then later attack eachother. How do I fix this?

Bendak, I'm guessing that your second problem is the AI. The JEi will move, stop, 'see' each other, and then attack.

Does anyone know how to do vehicle posession? As in, you garrison a unit in a allied vehicle and it becomes yours, and when you de-garrison the unit the vehicle turns back to your allies posession? Like in Falcon's First Flight with the AT-ST.

Oh, and Bendak, for your first problem, I'm not exactly sure what you're saying. But, I think you mean that unwanted units are being tasked to a certain spot. If so, then one of your task triggers is not selected on a unit, and thus every unit of that player is tasked to the area you specified. Try checking all of the task triggers.

There are two ways to do it. But I'll show you the way I prefer.

-Trigger 1-

Condition: Objects Garrisoned (1) [In the vehicle you want]
Condition: Object Not Visible [Unit that enters the vehicle]
Effect: Change Ownership [Vehicle unit has entered]
Effect: Activate Trigger (Trigger 2)

-Trigger 2-
Condtion: Object Visible [Unit inside Vehicle]
Effect: Change Ownership [Vehicle unit exited]
Effect: Activate Trigger(Trigger 1)

And thats it. It's a fairly simple trick that looks pretty cool when used right.

I was wondering though, is that limited to a certain unit, or can I have any of my units capture the vehicle in question?

EDIT: Ah yes. Whenever I capture the unit, (An Assault Mech) it ejects the units that are garrisoned in it, thus changing it back to Player Three. How do I fix this?

For the record Tsavong, it helps if you create a map revealer when the unit gets in, just so that you don't lose sight of them.

I always place them on the map and then chang ownersip to them.

Ok, i know EVERYONE is going to think im an idiot by asking this, but how is player one (the human player) able to not become defeated when they own no objects like people have in cutscenes?

Place an undefeatable object with player 1 in a spot of the map you don't use.

It's normally best to have undefeatable objects for every player somewhere you don't use on the map.

I'm wondering how to garrison units in a building using triggers. I've tried the Task Object trigger, but the units just move to the building and sit outside. Any help would be appreciated.
