The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

when i try to use a 3rd trigger to change the names in my scenario the program shuts down. so cna i only have 2 triggers or what?

Use only 1 trigger, then create effect: Change Object Name,
And keep on creating the effect in the SAME trigger only on different objects.

Can you change a unit name to a name with a capital letter? when i try the effect allways turns red is there some other way to do this? if so, how?

I'm sorry to ask again, but no one's even responded at all to my question (not even an "I don't know, soz") so I'll ask again:

How do you make buildings appear and be blown up instantly? I want it for the explosions, but they always appear for a split second, and look ugly. Can anyone help please?

Why do you want to do that? I mean, you can do it with explosion triggers...

I wanted to change Anti - Air Mobile Attack , but it doesn't work. Isn't it posibble to do that ?

Darth Sidious, yeah I know about explosion triggers, but I mean the bigger ones (power core ones, large building ones). Thanks anyway though...

That should work, I always rename units with a capital letter at the beginning. Have you already checked if the object has been properly selected?

I don't think there is a changeable attack for Anti-Air mobiles, troopers, or turrets. I tried to change it once so it could destroy a ship in one hit, but I couldn't.

You can change the attack points of a Trooper. I don't know about the Turret and the Anti-Air Mobile though, I've never tried that.

Is there any way of allowing a civ to research a technology that is another civs unique technology? (without allowing all techs)

Uh, actually Keyboard Warrior, yes.

By using the Enable Tech and Research Tech effects in the scenario editor you can research any technology, be it a civilisation's special tech or not.

Are you researching using a trigger? I don't think the enable tech lets you research them in the game, only by trigger. I think anyway. Lol resarch self regeneration, tougher armour and droid upgrades, and put post tech 4 you get a super trooper

EDIT: And FarSeeinbinocs, a repeater with all these can take on about 500 trooper recruits.

Well i think they shud allow u to enable you to research another civs unique tech, but anyway...

does anybody know how to do the trigger from the campaign 'falcons first flight'(available at top downloads)
where he can steal vehicles and drive them until he gets out.
ive tried the 'units garrisoned' condition but it just kicks me out of the vehicle

a detailed explaination would be helpfull

Yeah I was wondering that too... also, again I ask how can you make explosions (not the explosion trigger ones, I know about them, but the big ones and power core ones) without the building showing for a split second before being killed? In Jedi Legends 2 they had big explosions but unless I wasn't paying attention I didn't see any buildings appear.

That was probably buildins being destroyed that where already on the map. Mabe because Ive never played it.

Obviously you haven't looked hard enough...

I have a problem: I know how to make gates stay open, and for them the close after being open (remove the shipward equipment) but is there a way to make them open again? Not unlocked, but them actually opening. Thanks... and help with the problem with the explosions would be appreciated
