The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

You can't, but they only do it if they have the default AI.

You have to have two players, one with an "immobile" AI, and another with the default AI. When you want the units to begin to attack, just make them change ownership to the player who has the default AI.

Trigger #2, looping, condition = timer-1 sec:

-deactivate trigger #2

Well, kind of. They spread out until the units make a square 5 tiles by 5 tiles (that's why the maximum is 25). Trust me, I use that trick all the time!

But don't I have to say what object I want to destroy? It's to kill using the force:

I've got a question. How can I make save point during the scenario - something like in SOTE campaign. By using triggers ? Maybe AI ? Any ideas ?

Well you could use a variety of Conditions, but the effect would be:

Condition: (Varies as said)
Effect: Send Chat
Text Inside Chat Box: <Save Now>

You didn't understand me. I know that I can send chat. But writinig text inside Text Box (example Save Point) doesn't cause that the game will be really SAVE (if you die, you will start again in the place where was Save Point). How can I do that ?

Greetings...

I'm sure that this is a very simple question:

How do I direct one civilization to take an attack stance and the other to take the defensive?

I have just started playing SWGB and am designing my first scenario with two very large armies about to slam it out in a murderous fistfight.

I've worked hard to create the terrain and unit ratios, but they just sit there when played and do not attack.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, if the two teams just sit there, it probably means they are both allies. Chane their diploomacy and make sure they're both enemies against each other.

To make one side take he defensive, wel that's tricy, but you could try bulk object tasking, so the Computer side is geenrally directed to one location. There are also different AI Mods out there that could help you.

Yes, you can. It involves loop triggers, as Astro Mech so kindly explained to me. You should not only read the replies to your own questions, but the replies to others as well. Because sometimes thing like this happen, the same questions are asked one after another.

Since I don't really mind explaining, I will:

Create Trigger: "Ambush"
Display as Objectives: No
Starting State: On
Trigger Looping: No
Condition: (Condition you want before the ambush occurs)
Effect: Activate Trigger "Ambush Units".
Effect: Create Trigger "Ambush Units 2".

Create Trigger: "Ambush Units"
Display as Objectives: No
Starting State: Off
Trigger Looping: Yes
Condition: Timer (1 second)
Effect: Create Object (Objects you wish to create and set the location they appear around)

Create Trigger: "Ambush Units 2"
Display as Objectives: No
Starting State: Off
Trigger Looping: No
Conidtion: Timer (Input the amount of units you wish to have appear, but the MAXIMUM (and I mean it) of units you can have appear is 25)
Effect: Deactivate Trigger "Ambush Units".

There, I've given you the trigger instructions to create objects in up to 25 units in one place at a time. They will spread themselves out, don't worry.

that dosent work. i think he means like how do you order all
the attack stance like attack to the defence.

Well, Dark Force User, if the "Ambush Units 1" trigger is not looping, it needs to be. That's the only thing I see that is wrong.

As Astro_mech said, Ambush Unit 1 needs to be a looping trigger (To do this, click on the 'info' button below the trigger name in the editor, and click the Loop: On button). Also, Ambush Unit 2's effect should be to deactivate Ambush Unit 1, not Ambush Unit 2. So, you'll end up with triggers like these:

Trigger Ambush | On | No Loop
Condition 0: Bring Object To Area
Effect 0: Activate Trigger [Ambush Unit 1]
Effect 1: Activate Trigger [Ambush Unit 2]

Trigger Ambush Unit 1 | Off | Loop
Condition 0: Timer [1]
Effect 0: Create Object

Trigger Ambush Unit 2 | Off | No Loop
Condition 0: Timer [15]

how do i order units? becaues now i have the amubsh trigger. now i want a ship to go some were and drop off units (trigger) and leaves.

I have a problem in CorLife! I have it set so that if you kill someone, you "steal" 25 nova (except for the last killing trigger, where you steal 1000). However, it automatically activates the last trigger, giving me those 1000 nova (making you automatically win.) How do I stop it from doing this. You don't start out with 19 kills!

are you sure you deactivted it? check again, sometimes I click active trigger effect instead of deactivated.
