The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

I NEED HELP!! I want to display instructions and make my ONLY TWO UNITS from stop moving,coz i hate it when people move em around and mess up my tasking etc, i tryed freezing, but that doesnt seem to work, i tried stop units and that hasnt seemed to work either, now i hav tryed changing the ownerships of my two ickle units BUT!! i then lose the game I'm not a noob to this, i been doin this for bout 3 months now, and i just found this site, this prob is the only thing that i cant seem to do lol

Don't worry! all you need is to download an AI in the download section which called Immobile Taunt AI
and then put it under AI in the players section in the game

Also so you won't lose the game place an 'undefeatable object' for each of your players in the scenario

If you make a new AI and you use it in a scenario, do you have to include it in the dowload file? Thanks!

Actually, you don't need to put the AI in if you have put the scenario in a campaign.

No, you have to, since if the player doesn't have the ai on his game folder, than the ai can't work cause he doesn't have the file

Edit: ok, just learned that, if you submit a campaign you don't have to, but if it's a sceanrio you have to sent the ai.

I need help.I am trying to make my first sceanrio, and it was coming along fine, untill i couldnt figure out how to get a certain player to die once one building was destoyed.AND for some reason when i tested the scen, there was a Command Center on the ship that i didnt even put there! I have made some small scale scens before, but nothing this complicated,and i would appreciate any help i can get.

Lets take this step-by-step shall we:

1. Make a Trigger, name it whatever you wish.

2. Add a Condition, A "Kill unit" condition. Then select the unit that you want to die for the player to lose as the unit.

3. In the same trigger, create a "Declare victory" effect. Make it declare the victory for the opposing player of the one you want to kill (when the unit dies of course.).

4. You’re done. It should work now

This can be solved with an "undefeatable Object" for every player you have place an undefeatable object in a place in the map you will not use in the scenario. (An undefeatable object can be found in the Units section of the scenario editor).

Hey, guys! I need some help. I know how to make "organized air traffic" (you know, where it flies in nice straight lines?). Unfortunately, if I make a second type of ships go down the lane, it runs the other type over and then causes a "traffic jam". Anyone know how to fix this? If not, that's all right.

well, the second type must be faster than the first type which causes the problem. you could however, using timers, task the object from a place to a place, so it won't cause a the traffic. though it could take a lot of triggers.

Well, I don't know what I did wrong. I set the object and the new name, and when it didn't work I tried it on an assault mech and it properly functioned.

Delete the effect, and do it again
Sometimes there are weird problems with the editor.
Try it again, Delete the effect and make it again!

Ok. How do you use a Monument as eye-candy, without it activating
Ive seen it done in scenarios, but i cant figure out how do stop it.
I tried a looping 'Change Ownership' effect, but that didn't work.

I have a question that noone can seem to answer for me. I need to add a personal sheilding effect to a hero in my scenario. Ive read the guide on AI scripting, and various other threads. None so far seem to deal with this. Please help. Im trying to shield certain heros, without the use of a Fambaa or a sheild genrator (unless it can be invisible)

The reason why no one has answered is because it is not possible at least in Scenario Design. To make a self-sheild you must use genie, which is modding. Sorry.

Requesting mods is against the rules, I suggest you read upon this. If you want a mod, do it yourself. Why should anyone waste their own time to do it for you.

because personal sheilding would be a great asset to all of us scen builders. they all scence it. Why can't you?
