The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

well, the first trigger has like, 6 effects, renames and attack/health modifiers. The second one has a two-second timer, and only has a display instructins trigger. The unloading trigger only has an unload effect. So I guess I need a new computer over there, which isn't suprizing. I got this one (XP) because the other one had a heart attack, and is a survivor (it takes two miutes to start up)

Guys your lucky you've got the latest pc's.

I've got a dell optiplex GX1 on windows 98SE. And i still use it.

The computer has been through all kinds of stuff...

(1) - I ripped the keyboard port of the motherboard by accident, I had to solder it back on.

(2) - The computer was infested with trojans that screwed up the BIOS, ended up rewriting the BIOS.

(3) - The hard-disk (6GB) has died about 50 times, Had to reformat it...from a boot disk.

And it still has a fully working version of swgb/cc/aok/tc on it!!!

There is a tool, and its been posted around here lately... I forget excatly where. Hopefully another member can help you out.

Well guys... I finally finished my demo for my new Battlefront Series... You'll find it in the Campaigns near the top...now look, the info is basic but remember this is but a taste of what Im making...I will have more special moves, units, special games and special effects in my actual campaign...

Also does anyone know where I can find the pc version of Battlefront I or II? Off topic I know...but I really want it.

Make a cliff, then rotate it a couple times ago. Move the screen off the cliff, then go back and it should be invisible, but you still can't walk through it.

How do you add your own music to your scenario, i've seen that in a couple of scenarios that I have downloaded.

Has anyone ever had this problem. I am tasking a gaia unit called a vaapad to attack something and it turns into a rancour?!?! However when I don't task it, then it just attacks normally. Any help please?

ROFL! I just did that and it happened. Then I killed it and it turned back into the Vaapad! A dead Vaapad.

Maybe it's just a graphic issue. Try using a different monster if it doesn't work. Unless it HAS to be the Vaapad...

Can you have the Vaapad owned by a different player? It might be because you're using Gaia as a player.

How do you issue commands via chat? I'm working on a SWBII campaign that has every map from it and functions, including the ability to control allied units. Also, can some give me the register link to imageshack? I can find it.

So you're into battlefront too...
For the commands learn to use the taunt system and make it activate when units are in a certain area...then you can make them follow you with task trigger.

Guys i have my own question. How do you make it so units can't shoot through walls?

Yeah, I am doing all the Clone Wars Era Maps. So far I've done 1 space battle (45%), started Naboo (20%), and Geonosis (50%).
I have a pima guide for SWBII so units and vehicles are much easier to do. And maps.

Guys i have my own question. How do you make it so units can't shoot through walls?
Im not so sure. Try to use the remove object.
Select the area under the wall that must not be shot through. Next select the player of the unit that must not shot through the wall and the kind of unit.
You have to test this first. If this doesnt work, then you need the mod for all the units available in the editor and then do the following:

You first need to find out which projectile your unit shoots, then make a trigger with a object in area. Select the projectile name and set the player of the unit.
Now make the area be the area near the wall.
After that, make a remove object effect and remove that projectile. If correctly, this will prevent you from shooting the wall, and not damaging the wall.

As i said before, you first need to test this.

Hmm yeah i was thinking along those lines. I have the all units mod, it's just that finding the right projectile can be tough... I'll experiment and then I might upload a guide matching bullets to units.
If I get this to work my Battlefront will be kick a$$!
And I'll be able to make that Death Star Level someone wanted me to make.

How do you not allow forcecarbon etc to work??

Simple. Condition: Accumulate Attribute 1000 Carbon, player 1. Effect Declare victory player X. Really it is not a hard concept at all, use your head a little.

Imo it works like removing units, by using the remove object effect.
