The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

How can I delete a unit, so that it's corpse doesn't appear when it dies. I just want the unit to disappear, with no corpse.

Last question. I set up a duel where a sith master is supposed to attack you. But the sith master always runs away. How can I force him to attack, and not run away? Is there an AI or something that would fix that?

Use the 'task object' effect, and use your character as the sith knight's location.

I tried that. He still runs away. Maybe the trigger needs to be reset or something, I'll check it out.

Remember, use the Immobile Units AI.

You might have to make it a looping trigger, I'm not sure.

Why would I need to use the Immobile Units AI? Doesn't that mean that units will only move where I tell them to?

Hey, I have a question, I have custom music files for the campaign I am working on, but I have no idea have to convert them to MP3 sounds, I know how to put them in the sound/scenario folder, but not make them the right format, anyone know how?

hi does anybody know a AI wich make your enemys make soldiers,aircraft,mechs and such things and also buidlings...i ve made a scenario and the enemies won't create ore build anything...

I went thru Wok AI guides, and I'm trying to learn how to AI script. When I made a simple AI, say just chat to myself, it seems fall back on the shipped AI. Is it supposed to do this?

Hi. First of all thanks for all the stuff here since it's great and make lot of fun

For some reason when I first came to this forum I was able to register but not to post but finally I can. I was searching for something but couldn't find it. Hope someone here can help me

How can I make a unit (hero), to get either 1 extra on armor, or to heal a bit quicker?

Because, this unit has no armor, so dies quicker but if heals quicker would make the same effect.

There's no trigger for getting extra armor or make a hero unit heal quicker but there are other ways to make a unit harder to die.
First you can increase a unit's armor if you set player's 1 tech level to Post-Tech level 4.Otherwise you can increase a unit's health points using the "Change Object HP" trigger.

Two Questions about the all units utility.

First off, how do you delete something from all units once it's placed on the map, such as a bullet?

And second, how do you create the effect of a Jedi "deflecting" a blaster shot?

Some blasts can not be deleted with the 'delete' button.However you can delete them using map copy.
For your second question just make the Jedi attack an invisible object and the trooper attack another invisible target near the Jedi.

I don't mean to sound newbish (Although, I am when it comes to sound files), but how would you get the sounds from the game in order to get the sounds?

That depends on the game you are ripping. For HL, theres a tool on internet to do it. If you want to rip an other game search the internet for it (the extensions you need to open).

Anyways if this is too complicated for you, you simply use the sounds of other campaings .

How do I change the name of an object? Every time I try to use the Change Object Name trigger and put text into the message box and set the area/object, nothing happens! Please help, thank you.
