The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

Alas, more help is needed..

Ok, I need a frame for my bitmap (and a few other things besides) and I have decided that the kind of frame you see during the campaign cinima scenes works best. Problem is, I don't know where in the world I can obtain it. I remeber seeing an old cruddy bitmap for the Mon Cal conversion project that had that frame. Please help..

.scx files go in c/program files/lucas arts/game/Scnearios folder.

.cpn files go in c/program files/lucas arts/game/Campaign

just stick them in ther folder and they will work.

I assume that this is the place to request for some help, anyway, I want a background sound to play when you enter a certain area, and keep playing until you exit to another(where another bg sound will play) and will play again, while disabling the other sound, when you enter the area again. Sorry if it doesn't make much sense.

It makes perfect sense, anyways, use the play sound trigger effect and then deactivate it at the point you want by using the deactivate trigger effect.

If you have a mic, you could record just a very short sound clip with no sound in it. You would then just have to make a trigger play that sound which should stop the other one.

Unfortuantly, another sound doesn't stop another, they just seem to mix.

I am trying to create a bridge that will be completed when the character "hits a switch". I want the bridge parts to be created so they can walk across, but every time I do this, it won't let me cross, even though the rest of the bridge is there. Help plz .

It's a series of triggers that usually take awhile to get right. I won't list the exact trigger that you need to do to make, but I will give you an overview of how it works.

The way it works is that the first trigger is used to create asteroid hubs which represent the fan blades. After a certain amount of time has passed, usually a couple of seconds, another trigger is activated and the asteroid hubs are removed from the first location and more asteroid hubs are created in another location. This is then repeated to create the looping effect. In each trigger, the Kill Object effect is used in the same location where the asteroid hubs are created. So when your unit(s) come in contact with the 'blades', they are killed.

That's basically all there is to it. It'll take some practice for you to make it work properly. Hope that helps you.

First place the full bridge in the SCN editor. Then, place cliffs in front of the Bridge Start and rotate each peice of the cliff several times. Then, have a trigger that removes the bridge middles in the begginning of the scenario. Also have a trigger that removes the cliffs (They should be invisible) when the switch is pressed. Hi all
I was just playing Jedi Legends epliouge (FANTASTIC by the way) and I noticed that once a small group of people die (say two stormtroopers were killed by Naat) that a new trigger is set off. I was wondering how this was done as I can't get this to happen unless I make the small group one team and use the condition player defeated once there dead.

You must make seperate "Object Destroyed" condition for each unit\building you want to be destroyed (all conditions in one trigger) and then make the effects you want.

I'm having trouble with the load comand. I keep entering in the line
(load "whateverthefilenameis")

And it keeps telling me that (load is in invalid identifier. Can anybody give me some advice?

I normally have units wondering around the screen so I have to create additional untils to stop this. Do you know how?

You don't have to create additional units to stop them, just place a scout for that team in a corner of the screen and surrond it with cliffs or trees.
