The Scenario Design Help Thread

Greetings, fellow Scenario Designers. I'm just letting you know that the Help Thread has been emptied so that you won't have to shuffle through 25 pages of questions and answers before you ask your questions. Instead, take a look at the Scenario Design Page that Angel AoErat has provided and already posted for us in his other thread, and take a look at everything there is to know about Scenario Design before asking any questions.

How do I make a trigger so that when a certain unit gets killed that team will be defeated?

Simple

Make this trigger :

Condition : Destroy Object (set object)
Effect : Player Defeated (set Player)

Whats the problem? You just do a simple display Instructions effect. If you want it to be centered, just find the center yourself ( using SPACES not the enter key.)

hey? Someone help, everytime i try to input a movie into the game, the damned thing says : Error, does not support the movie.

Workers sometimes slip through the clutches of the Immobile Units AI. Check to make sure there's nothing for the worker to do (i.e. collect resources, complete building foundations).

Hey, I've got that problem too. I made a Raven Studios intro movie and when I tried (or others tried) to play it you get an error too .

Someone can tell me how I can make my unit "drive" a vehicle, to control it only when garrisoned?

Condition0: Units Garrisoned (How many units you want allowed inside of it)
Effect0 Change Ownership (The mech or Air Transport).

And that should do.

OK, but I want to the vehicle change ownership again when no one is inside it but I can't, the unit immediately go out from the vehicle, what should I do??

'Garrisoned' ON\NO LOOP
Condition0: Units Garrisoned (How many units you want allowed inside of it)
Effect0: Change Ownership (The mech or Air Transport)
Effect1: Activate Trigger (Ungarrisoned).
Just add Effect1 if you already have Condition0 and Effect0

'Ungarrisoned' OFF\NO LOOP
Conditiono: Units Garrisoned (0)
Effect0: Change Ownership (The mech or Air Transport).

How do I make a movie for the game? Do I have to make it using screenshots or do I make it using a converter or something.

Use Windows movie maker. You should have it .

Here's the Raven Studios intro movie. Too bad it doesn't works ingame.

Does anybody here know how to task workers to build buildings or making them work on created foundations.
And is there a way to make a foundation that's not in it's starting state (with differnt grafic/work progress. the important is differnt grafic)?

I've made open movies for campaigns before. Just make sure it is an AVI and it should work. It worked for me at least.

This might sound stupid, but here goes...

What would be the best unit for the boogie man? I've been thinking about Tusken Raider Melee, Tusken Raider Female (boogie woman? Actually it looks quite cool) Rodian, the Gungan bounty hunter dude, Bossk or a Trandoshan. What do you think? lol

Two problems

1. Undefeatable Object - I've put in the map many undefeatable objects. In the training room my unit attacks them, but in the sewers he can't. He doesn't see them, but I'm sure that I've put the UO in a right place.

2. In my scenario there is a bridge. You have to activate it. But when the bridge is activated, my unit can't get across it. Why ?

1. Use invisible targets. They can be found under buildings.

Ok in the scenario editor create bridges where you want the created bridges to be, remove them through triggers, and then create the bridge through triggers aswell.

Dawidos, when you activatye the bridge do triggers create bridge peices? If so then try the walkable water trick but have a trigger that stops the unit from crossing if the bridge hasn't been activated yet.
