ok I posted this at MFO, but for those of you who dont read there here goes
Well I for one enjoy the game and have been doing my best to get support for it. I just dont want it to be treated like rebellion was. Yes I am one of those wierdo's that loved the game, would have been better if it was more than two player, but it was left to rot after only one patch.
I really think that most of these game critics have not played the game online more than 10 times, even the amature critics of the game who tend to have negetive views on this forum are those who have only dabbled with the game. As the game designer, you could ask these reviewers to take a second look at the game after the next patch. Just tell them play the game on the zone for 1 week, and most of them would end up changing thier mind on thier previous bad review.
With the release of AoM in sept and WC3 in 2003??04?? lol. Well anyways my point is that LA has an opportunity for the next 7 months to realy entrench popular support for this game with a few patches (to fix issues already posted here previously) and with the release of E2 during this time, a well done Xpac. Ofcourse with everyone and thier mother going to see E2 a promo for the game/xpac in the trailer section before the movie wouldn't hurt .
My point is thats its a solid game. We have an ave 350 players + playing it on the zone during peak hours. With just a few technical adjustments, some zone support, and some friendly reviews this game could easily have 10x's that amount. Some ppl say the game wont take off, but there is still plenty of time imho, as long as we get some support.
Ok thats my selfless for the game comment now let me be selfish for a min.... I play Empire I have logged over 1000 hours playing them and there is very few, if any, who have played or know them better that I do.
1. plzzzzzzz fix the Empires recruit attack dmg (5 instead of 7)
2. Probots???? most totally useless unit in the game as they currently are. If not fixed would much rather have it deleted and have t4 heavy weaps armor upgrade.
3. ATAT upgrade as another unique tech that falls short, if you were to add +2 range/ or slightly increased dmg /or tougher armor... then it would be a worthy upgrade.
4. imho ATAT's should be the most feared mech in the game, just as TF DD's most feared UU, Naboo/Reb Air most feared/ Gungan and Wookie hvy weaps most feared/ and Reb/ Wookie troopers most feared. Thats the thing the Empire is not really feared for much of anything when it comes to thier units. Wookies can out troop and hvy weaps us. Gungans and TF can out mech/hvy weaps us. Reb/ Naboo/ Wookies Can out Air us. Reb / Naboo can out Jedi us. Then of course we are the worst at the sea. Anyways this could easily be fixed with a better ATAT unique tech.
5. Upgraded AA towers are nice but just dont do enough dmg to t4 Air. Also there needs to be a scripting adjustment that fixes turret priority...a transport (empty or not) currently has the highest priority... well it should be transport (full) then Bomber then Fighter then transport (empty).
6. Ground Turrets should do trooper damage instead of building dmg. That would make all those ground turret upgrades worth it in a multi player game, and you would see alot more MD's/ Assault Mechs being used (as they should be) to ferry troopers into towns to be unleashed once the turrets are dispatched. Also make the turret do little dmg to gren troopers and let the gren troops have a special attack vs them. That would keep a T-2 turret rush at about the same effectiveness after the change.
7. Gren troopers cost too much. maybe a 75/20 price would be alot more playable, also the possible addition in an xpac of a anti mech rocket launcher might be a nice addition, and change gren troopers to longer range anti personel/ light mech destroyers (which is thier real life duty ) and have the rocket launching troops ( t3?) be the light/heavy mech destroyers
8. Mounted Trooper scripting should be Vill/mill unit then buildings.
9. Jedi should be alot tougher than they are, but to counter this you could have in t2 a CC unit thats a local bounty hunter (weaker version) then the fortress Bounty Hunter in t3(Super Scum of the Galaxy).
Well those are my ideas, but honestly when it comes to the Empire changes I do think they are in order, yes I might be partial to them, but the changes I suggest would not unbalance them. They have been well thought out ideas through 4 months of playing them.
Again, and I believe I speak for everyone here on this, Thank you for taking the time to post here. It truly means alot to those of us who play the game to hear from the designer and also know that our ideas, opinions, etc are being looked at.
On a different Note who/what is a Warez? LoL
