[Posted by Yehoshua Ben Yisra'el, 9.26.2002 @ 6:12:PM]

With mod packs becoming a new rave at Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Heaven, The Vampire Slayer, a forummer here, has given a tutorial on how to successfully and correctly review mods that are released into our downloads.

TVS - This review system contains 2 categories for Modification Packs. I have determined that the following categories cover all the areas that a truly excellent modpack should excel in: Usefulness and Quality. Both categories are scored on a range from 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score and 1 being the worst. The total score is achieved by averaging both categories...

Heaven Games proudly announces that Rise of Nations Heaven has been officially released. Congratulations Zen and those who put time and effort into this new heaven. With itís simplistic but good look, the Coliseum on the top right, and the RON logo on the top left, RONH is ready for public viewing.

September 14, 2002 - HeavenGames LLC announced today that it has launched Rise of Nations Heaven ( ), the latest in its series of special-interest sites for Real Time Strategy & Citybuilding games.

Currently in development, Rise of Nations (TM) is a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game developed by Big Huge Games and published by Microsoft. Conceived of and designed by Brian Reynolds, the man behind Sid Meir's Civilization 2 and Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri, Rise of Nations promises to be an epic game that encompasses the whole of human history.

Rise of Nations focuses on the development of 18 different Nations. Some that are still with us today such as France and China, and others that are no longer with us such as the Aztecs and Nubians.

The inclusion of these "lost" nations allows players to play out "what if" scenarios where these now long gone Nations can rise to ultimately rule the whole of the earth. "What if" the Aztecs had defeated Pizzaro? Where would they be today?

Each nation will have it's own set of artwork that will give it its own distinct look and feel. There will also be Unique units for each nation that will ensure that playing as the Egyptians will be a different experience from playing as the Russians.

Rise of Nations Heaven will be dedicated featuring extensive coverage of Rise of Nations as the game is being developed, and will bring you the latest news on the game. Be sure to check out our E3 preview of Rise of Nations as well!

Let us take a moment to reflect those who were lost in the September eleventh attacks. The anniversary of the terrorist attacks is today. Over three thousand people died from the from being trapped in the building, those who went in to rescue them, and the unsuspecting victims in the planes-turned missiles.

Let us take a short pause from our life in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives in order to stop another terrorist attack on the fourth place and those who we shall remember as fire fighters, went in to do their duty.

For those who are not aware, Heaven Games was temporarily shut down this morning in honor of 9/11/02.

Tips for designers...

I was checking up on the news when I spotted a interview about scenario designing. It is for a completely different game, but still it has elements that all good designers follow and those wishing to make good scenarios should follow.

I'm sure all you mapmakers out there know how frustrating it is to spend days or even weeks working on a map project only to lose the map to an irreparable file corruption bug. Elquein shares with us some of her experiences in overcoming such a blow to the creative spirit as well as share her thoughts on what to do when you hit an idea block.

You can always skip over the issues that donít refer to the SWGB editor, but some parts are interchangeable no matter what game you decide to design for.

I encourage you to look over the short interview at AOW2H.
