The latest issue of Computer Gaming World (magazine publication - issue 208) has a four page ad for SWGB, featuring Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Darth Sidious, and Queen Amidala. There is one new screenshot in the ad that shows the Trade Federation's Blaster Cannon unpacked - it's huge! It also pictures some sort of small Trade Federation hover-craft piloted by a Battle Droid.

GamespotUK Interviews Gary Gaber - design lead for SWGB
[Posted by AoErat, 9.22.2001 @ 11:00:PM]

GamespotUK has posted a fairly informative three-page interview of Gary Gaber, design lead of SWGB. It focuses mostly on the game engine's features and changes from AoK. Here is an interesting quote:

GSUK: Have any of the new units been sourced from comics or books?
GG: Wherever we could, we did. Things like the ATP actually are taken from comic books - we used concept art. The AT-ST - actually, the un-upgraded AT-ST - is from the original concept art for the AT-ST for Empire Strikes Back. But on the side of the Wookies there was very little source material, and so we've basically created all that from scratch.

So it looks like we can expect to see lots of non-canon units running around in fan-made scenarios, if not even in the offical campaigns.

Various Tidbits
[Posted by AoErat, 9.21.2001 @ 11:00:PM]

3) There are going to be big changes in this site in the next few days - be sure to check by and see.
4) New site feature - see the site stats on the left. 77 listed units already. :)
That's all for now folks.
