[Posted by Aetius, 2.28.2002 @ 4:13:PM] has posted an interview that they had with SWGB Director Garry Gaber. It answers a lot of the basic questions that most of you gamers out there have about the upcoming SWGB Expansion Pack, Clone Campaigns. Here's an excerpt from the chat:

" HomeLAN - What other gameplay features and improvements will be put into the expansion?

Garry Gaber - We really wanted to work on delineating the civs more than we did originally, so the Rebel Alliance gets to build an extra fighter in the Airbase, and the Naboo have a few improvements as well. In addition we have added the concept of team bonuses. So in a multiplayer game, for instance, if the Galactic Empire allies with the Trade Federation, both sides enjoy a bonus for being part of the alliance. We think this will add a really cool dynamic to team games. "

[Posted by Aetius, 2.20.2002 @ 5:08:PM] recently posted their review of SWGB. They gave it an overall score of 7.5/10 because of it being very similar to Age of Kings. Here's some of what had to say:

"Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds plays like a sci-fi nerd’s fantasy: X-Wing Fighters, AT-ATs, Storm Troopers, Y-Wing Fighters, Tauntauns and more, all crammed into one bite-sized piece of exciting (albeit old) real time strategy. But be warned - Battlegrounds uses the same engine and all the same gameplay mechanics as Age of Empires II, and plays exactly like Ensemble Studios' masterpiece. Many have disputed its right to be reviewed as a ‘new’ strategy game, and as such the obvious question has to be asked. Is the title just milking money out of Star Wars fans, or is there something decent on offer?"

A Visit from Garry Gaber
[Posted by Aetius, 2.13.2002 @ 3:11:PM]

Garry Gaber, Lead Director of Star Wars:Galactic Battlegrounds, recently posted some information in our General Discussions Forum. Here's some of what Mr. Gaber had to say:

For the past year or so, I've been reading posts and generally seeing what people like/dislike about the game. It's very encouraging to see how many of you are enjoying the experience of playing Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. We are intently looking at your criticisms and praises, and this was part of why we did a patch so quickly - to address concerns about multiplayer. We are also currently working with the Zone to add more features to multiplayer game matching. We know the community wants this, and are really hoping that the Zone implements the features that we've asked for. We care a lot about what you say, and plan to keep supporting the game as long as you are playing it."
